Anita Laurence has been accepted into the 2011 Silk Cut Award for Linocut Prints. The Silk Cut Award was introduced in 1995 to encourage the making and appreciation of linocut prints. Sponsored by the Silk Cut Foundation Inc in conjunction with Duroloid and Dutch manufacturer Forbo, the award aims to provide creative opportunities for artists of all ages. The 2011 Silk Cut Award exhibition will be held at the Glen Eira City Council Gallery from 3-18 September 2011.
Anita Laurence was one of three Open Section Acquisition Prize Winners in 2009 for her entry ‘Corcaigh’. The linocut prints acquired from this award have become part of the Silk Cut Foundation Collection, gifted to the National Gallery of Australia. We wish her the best of luck this year with her entry ‘Water Ways’.
