About John Grindrod

John was Born in Melbourne, brought up in Melbourne and North East Victoria. He Left school to be a farm hand and later left the farm to go to university. He acheived a Ph.D at the ANU. After twenty years of teaching and researching in Quaternary Studies he is now a sculpture who likes to work in metal and wood. John currently splits his time between sculpting in Melbourne and applying a bit of environmental management on his family property near Alexandra. His present focus in art reflects his early association with the North East, a place where the Kelly influence is still strong.
