Artist Statement - 'The Italian Series'

"The Italian Series paintings are a response to my memories of the trip to Italy in 2007. I was intrigued by the weathered doors and walls of the historic buildings and their vibrant colours: shades of pink, red and terracotta. I have been inspired by the Italian culture and lifestyle that predominanatly revolves around food, wine, family gatherings and the arts".
